The Eye Center of Central PA is seeking skilled and motivated Ophthalmic Technicians to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician , you will play a vital role in assisting ophthalmologists, optometrists, and physician assistants in providing exceptional eye care to our patients. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits. The ideal candidates for the Ophthalmic Technician position will be required to travel to multiple clinic locations throughout the week and work a range of hours (hours generally fall between 7am and 5:30pm). Duties: * Perform preliminary eye examinations, including taking patient histories, and documenting chief complaints. * Conduct various diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and visual field testing. * Assist with contact lens fittings and teach patients proper insertion, removal, and care techniques. * Administer eye medications as directed by the provider. * Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical record systems. * Provide patient education on eye health, contact lens wear, and post-operative care instructions. * Preparing patients for the provider examination and follow-up with specialized tests, as ordered by the provider. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent required; certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant preferred. * Although skilled, certified ophthalmic personnel are preferred, we will provide all the training necessary for the right candidate to succeed. * Previous experience in ophthalmology or optometry setting highly desirable. * Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to ophthalmology desirable. * Familiarity with ophthalmic instruments and equipment desirable. * Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages. * Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
